How to add Places & Locations to a photo
Adding a location to your photo is a great way to take maximize your BeenUp2 experience. With locations you can view a Google Map of your day/week/month, see who else gets coffee at your favorite cafe, or check out where your friends have been. It's a simple process, we'll show you how right now!
Let's begin with some terminology.
Place - a setting within a city, for example: Restaurants, Cafes, Clubs, Movie Theaters, the Beach.
Location - City / State / Province / Country
Adding a "place" to a photo requires one simple symbol. The "@" symbol.
Meeting a friend @ Starbucks
This is how it would look.
In your
account settings you set your default City / State / Country. This means every photo you send in with a "place" automaticaly puts that place in your default location unless you say otherwise.
See the example below
Let's say you live in Los Angeles but send in a photo of yourself buying a 128 pack of toliet paper at Costco in Sacramento. The caption would be:
Stocking up for the winter @ Costco @ Sacramento
This is how it would look.
Places on BeenUp2 easiest to understand if you think of it as looking at a map at street level, then zooming out with every "@".
@ Place @ City @ State or @ In-N-Out @ Chicago @ Illinois
Now that you have a better understanding of Places & Locations learn how to send in photos of a place on the go. We'll use Target in El Dorado Hills as an example. First snap the picture of the Place, then send it to your @beenup2.com e-mail address with the title:
place @ Target @ El Dorado Hills
This sends the photo to the BeenUp2 location system associating it to that Place. This photo will not be posted to the public feed.
