The lady who wore this corset was impailed with some sort of rod. She spent most of her life painting self portraits because that was all she could really paint with a mirror hung above her bed. It's an interesting story. The woman who took the picture had access to the woman's locked down house in Mexico and documented some of the things inside.
We just finished printing these little corsets for the cover of Graciela's book. .. That's why this picture.
