They are Italian cookies. Simply amazing. There's another one I like equally, but not as many like it. Only one family in the world knows how to make it. It is very hard, airy, light, small, and round. It too is Almond - very unique and wonderful. Someday I'll post that one - perhaps:-)

britt: I think you're right - Siena is where they come from. It's actually in the name - Ricciarelli (Sienese Almond Cookies)

My question is this, did you sit down with a great cup of coffee, or espresso, and eat all of these as you sat in your comfy chair and got some much needed R&R ??????? :) I was hoping.
Eating two or three is about max - too special to scarf 'em down. Also, it goes perfect with a STRONG cup of Starbucks French Roast (they roast it darker than anyone).
I took the picture from their web site - I'm not that good of a photographer:-)

You should use these for communion at church next time.

Using these for communion would dangerously change the focus - they're good, but not that Good.

Yes Bill, you did get me hooked on French Roast about 30 years ago :) ..... I LOVE IT ... NO MATTER WHAT NATHAN, and Bill S., etc. say about it, it is still the very best. Why drink coffee if it doesn't have a bit of a bite???

I go for the the communion....We simply MUST have them next time.....
