joel: If you're into deli-style health food my fave eatery/grocery store (www.downtoearth.org) is on the main drag in Kahului. Great entrees and desserts, all self-serve. Then there's the Iao Needle and a fabulous botanical garden on the highway nearby.

joel: Me, too. That Iao Needle valley is enchanting. Did you notice all the cats that hang around there? I think Mark Twain called it the Yosemite of the Pacific.
