beni
ladybug: awesome Brian. Way cool!!!!

at 02:24PM 08/03/08

Doug Crew
dougcrew: He didn't shoot it. He tackled and took it down with his pocket knife.

at 03:13PM 08/03/08

Darliene Johnson
darliene: Wow!!! another one!!!

at 03:14PM 08/03/08

John Lawson
johnlawson: Awfully dark out there. That must have been a coast buck. I forgot their season opens up so early.Instead of a "spork" , do they call that a "three-ork". Nice Kill. Looks like "Captain Backstrap" has reported!

at 03:17PM 08/03/08

leahmariv
leahmariv: so cool!!!

JustinDanielStockman
justindaniel: cool

at 07:06PM 08/03/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: that is completely twisted! that poor animal had a family!!!

at 07:42PM 08/03/08

Ben Scofield
bscofield: Too bad the family didn't happen along too - then more humans could have been fed.

at 07:44PM 08/03/08

Ben Scofield
bscofield: Ever tried fawn? It's better than veal!

at 07:45PM 08/03/08

Ben Scofield
bscofield: AND - incidentally, contrary to what Disney would have people believe, Deer do not have families. Males will mate with whomever they can and females will attempt to be picky and select the more dominant males - different every year...

at 07:46PM 08/03/08

Dave & Chris Wilson
woodster777: Where did you get it? Sorry we couldnt come back out! We missed seeing you again. Love you guys, Dave and Chris

at 08:40PM 08/03/08

Susan Natt
suz: That's awesome! You got one!

at 10:01PM 08/03/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: WELL ISN'T THAT JUST SKANKY BEN! WE SHOULD JUST KILL THEM ALL THEN HUH?!?!?!?! I THINK NOT!

at 12:34AM 08/04/08

beni
ladybug: if we don't kill them they will die from not enough food in the forest. Its all about the food change. :)

at 06:52AM 08/04/08

Brian
brianjohnson: Here's the deal about deer and their happy families. Every year a buck will mate with several if not dozens of does. That doesn't sound like a happy family to me. In a way I am doing the lord work :-)

at 07:37AM 08/04/08

beni
ladybug: haha, yes Brian you are.

Welcome home

at 08:55AM 08/04/08

at 06:07PM 08/04/08

leahmariv
leahmariv: good idea will :D

at 07:24PM 08/04/08

Jason Vallotton
rogueworrior: Will, you gonna judge us for our color now?

at 07:31PM 08/04/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: absolutely! I told the church sunday morning that I was speaking at the The Lord has called me to minister to white people! :-) They need some help!

at 09:40PM 08/04/08

alisa borneman

beni
ladybug: who is that with you? Is that Jason?

at 03:18PM 08/06/08

ingrid mae carlin
ingamae: This whole deer thing shocked me at first too Will, but alas, I've been influenced by the BEST and most EXCELLENT influencers ever, the Johnson's of Bethel, and through a series of Johnson Been Up 2 pictures, explanation of the food chain, and supernatural jerky I've decided I'm not at all shocked anymore and might even become a hunter one day myself...i will start with phesant maybe.=-) I need to learn to shoot a gun first...Beni do you hunt?? Jenn? any of the girl Johnsons? Leah? ok enough for now...

at 03:56PM 08/06/08

Jenn
jennaliyah: oooo, hunting is fun stuff.

at 04:05PM 08/06/08

leahmariv
leahmariv: i have not hunted YET but i plan to. although i shot a pig once at gabe families ranch for Christmas :D

at 04:09PM 08/06/08

Ann
annieem: Well done Brian, liked your comment!! Was it a one shot kill! Mark is wanting to go hunting this year for birds! I have been wanting to go too!

at 04:51PM 08/06/08

Ann
annieem: @leah, I say we should have an all female hunting trip! What say you?

at 04:54PM 08/06/08

ingrid mae carlin
ingamae: I wanna come!! i will watch the first time, and maybe cry a little bit....heheh.
@leamariv: I saw that pig picture on your Been Up 2...I was more than impressed. ;-)

at 05:38PM 08/06/08

leahmariv
leahmariv: haha yeah

at 08:10PM 08/06/08

Bill Johnson
brevived: The farther society gets from the actual food chain that feeds us, the weirder we become - actually placing moral value on things that have no morality, and often at the expense of things that are really true. To kill an animal that has a chance to live if it uses its wits (they always have the advantage, believe me) verses the animal that is raised in a pen to die (or provide leather for your shoes, belts, coats, etc.) seems no worse, and probably a lot more moral, if you insist. There were an estimated 400,000 deer in the US in 1900. There are over 4,000,000 in Texas alone right now. The key is proper game management, which includes hunting. (end of sermon:-)

at 01:31PM 08/07/08

Daniel Black
daniel1985: Bill...I liked you for a reason...I think you need to produce a whole CD and DVD series on the importance of hunting in todays society.... =)

at 01:46PM 08/07/08

beni
ladybug: I like your sermons.

at 01:53PM 08/07/08

ingrid mae carlin
ingamae: @brevived: I like your sermons 2...keep em coming Poppa Bill...=-)

at 01:59PM 08/07/08

Aaron
weafer: Hey Brian- how did you get that deer to hold still for a photo? That's some crazy Crocodile Dundee mojo you're working.

at 02:23PM 08/07/08

ingrid mae carlin
ingamae: @brevived: What do you mean by the fact that they always have the advantage? Is hunting that hard? I thought that learning to shoot a gun would be the hardest part but it appears i've deceived myself....I know Jesus hunted and I wish I could have an encounter with Him so He can tell me His hunting for food(besides fish) stories...=-)

at 04:01PM 08/07/08

Bill Johnson
brevived: yes, hunting is hard - having a gun helps - but it is in their neighborhood:-)

at 04:51PM 08/07/08

ingrid mae carlin
ingamae: @brevived: ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...their neighborhood---i think i get it now...they know the environment, geographic, territory better than any hunter ever could...ok...territorial advantages.

at 04:56PM 08/07/08

Jonathon Boring
boring: looks like a scene from the "Blair Deer Project"

at 07:06AM 08/08/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: hehe. i guess i've missed out bill. i'm not a hunting man. and somehow I don't see myself becoming one. This revelation will have to come to me in the age to come! :-)

at 12:01AM 08/10/08

beni
ladybug: Hey Will, bill can lay hands on you to receive this anointing for hunting if you want. :-)

at 07:43AM 08/10/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: i guess that would require a move now wouldn't that! :-)

at 09:41PM 08/10/08

beni
ladybug: haha Will. we will get you here somehow.

at 11:15PM 08/10/08

William Matthews
willmatthews: What can you say? I'm Loyal......you gotta give me A+ for heart!
