I decided not to say that there's something "right" about a movement being associated with a toilet..... :)

arealchange:
we have movements here in the US too that belongs in the toilet.. like our upcoming election! ( did I just say that?! covering eyes... running away quietly)
rhudson:
hey if they are moving they aint' dead! So go catch them and have them "move" for Jesus!

papabear:
I didn't know that toilets needed to be "saved". Does that mean that there are unbelieving toilets? Do the saved toilets go to heaven? Do the unsaved toilets spend eternity in the other place? Papa Bear wunderz...
john_baw:
This is one of "those moments" when being a brit just sort of.....makes you want to...erm. close your eyes...and crawl somewhere quiet, alone, dark ;)

@kylibo - lol :-) Of course; I will keep the prayer in mind in the event --- (my, this could get bad) --- well, that acronym: "PUSH" comes to my mind. It stands for Pray Until Something Happens. I guess we all need to PUSH once in a while...

I think I'm sensing a new avenue for ministry...those poor toilets.

Wales public exposure has declined since Diana's passing. If the Welsh had imported royal quality loos (toilets) which even the common public use in Japan, see http://tinyurl.com/AddictingToilets then the bobbies wouldn't have trouble finding a clean public loo when out on their beats. It's unconscionable not to submissively give a proper seat to authorities.
Romans 13:5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. (The Japanese loo even plays "Ave Maria", God bless them.)
The British Toilet Association needs to repent, hear the good news from Japanese exporters, and bring revival to their loos.

i haven't been to england or anywhere outside the us except for toronto and montreal, canada. but my daughter came back from england complaining about the fact that u have to pay to use the public toilets in london and one time she didn't have the money and she really needed to go. it makes me grateful for free public toilets wherever i am!!

In Harrods London you have to pay like $2 or more to use the toilets in the store

Some time ago, an English lady, tired of the rain of England, went to look for a house to buy in Switzerland. She finally found the house of her dreams, had her offer accepted, and returned to England to pack her belongings. While packing her bathroom, she suddenly realised that she didn’t remember seeing a bathroom in her new house. So she wrote to the Swiss estate agent asking for the whereabouts of the WC. The Swiss agent - his English being none too good - passed the letter on to the local priest for translation. Being unfamiliar with English abbreviations, the only meaning he could think of for WC was Wesleyan Chapel.
The English lady received the following reply:
‘My Dear Madam,
I take great pleasure in informing you that the WC is situated nine miles from the house in the centre of a beautiful grove of pine trees surrounded by lovely grounds.
It is capable of holding 229 people, and is open on Sundays and Thursdays only. As there are a great number of people expected during the summer months, I suggest you come early, although there is usually only standing room. This is an unfortunate situation, especially if you are in the habit of going regularly.
It may interest you to know that my daughter was married in the WC, and it was there that she met her husband. I can remember the rush for seats. There were ten people to every seat usually occupied by one. It was wonderful to see the expressions on their faces.
You will be glad to hear that a good many people bring their lunch and make a day of it, while those who can afford to go by car arrive just in time. I would especially recommend your ladyship to go on Thursdays when there is organ accompaniment. The acoustics are excellent, even the most delicate sounds can be heard everywhere.
The newest addition is a bell donated by a wealthy resident of the district. It rings every time a person enters. A bazaar is to be held to provide plush seats for all, since the people feel it is long needed.
My wife is rather delicate and she cannot go regularly. It is almost a year since she went last, and naturally it pains her very much not to be able to go more often.
If you let me know when you are planning on attending I shall be delighted to reserve the best seat in the WC for you, where you shall be seen by all. For the children there is a special day and time so they do not disturb their elders with their noises. Hoping to be of some service to you.
Yours faithfully…’
Great letter! Total miscommunication!

Wow! Even the hard hearted laughs have finally come to pass, and some fear losing control of even light humor! It seems the testimony @timee129 shared is inspiration to ROFL!
In tears, Repentant Over Flowing Loos, Rolling On Floor Laughing! A movement of Rent-and-cost-less loos!

laughter is good for us we are often told in church so this thread has provided many with that gift!

suem:
@ron you can try Proverbs 17 v 22 "merry" to me sounds like laughter !
at 02:57PM 08/08/08
ron:
@suem, does your pastor preach strictly from the KJV or does he sometimes look to the TRD (The Reader's Digest) for additional guidance?
Cause actually, before u mentioned that, I was wondering where that is in the Bible. Seriously. If anyone knows, pls drop a reference
I read, "Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart." (Ecclesiastes 7:3 NIV) I guess some people take that literally.
I think "the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem" (Ecc 1:1 KJV) needs to go to Redding and brevived!
at 03:03PM 08/08/08
ron:
Thanks Sue! So we don't need to go to TRD. King James of London says it well, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine". :-]
at 03:10PM 08/08/08
arealchange:
Actually the transliteration does indication laughter, great joy, even hysterical joy! sameach- Hebrew word you also see refrenced in 1Ki 8:66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

and on a more POWERFUL note, the converse, a broken spirit dries the bones... broken is : AV — broken 2, stricken 1, wounded 1... so we can appropriately say a MERRY, PUT BACK TOGETHER, HEALED, UNSTRICKEN, UNBROKEN heart doeth GOOD like a medicine!! Glory and thank you JESUS!
at 03:14PM 08/08/08
ron:
Amen! Thank u! I feel relieved - unstricken, unbroken, and put back together. That's a very good word.
I think I can put the lid down on this can now, as jimmysmith1 suggested way up near the top of this thread.
Even the out-house of Bethel's online church is a blessed place to congregate.
I'm SOZOed and I feel good about it.

This just in: The Brits also have a "Save Our Tastebuds" protest going regarding some brown "noxious gunk" they're eating. Maybe that has something to do with the nasty loos. I'm not making this gunk up folks, see for yourself at:
Redding may be next to need its tastebuds and toilets saved as the noxious gunk has been imported and is now being consumed there as well. See the photo courtesy of Sarah at:
