redheadrach:
haha No ma'am, but I had cut waaaay back. But now it's in the dining hall... ahh! lol So, I guess we'll see how it goes! :)

rachiebee:
hahaha, Well, keep trying! It's good that you're cutting down, at least!
But you didn't answer my other questions above. :o)

redheadrach:
Oh, I'm a music major at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN :)
at 03:37PM 08/18/08
rachiebee:
wow, music major? Very cool. that makes the tattoo mean more. :o) I have always wanted to take some more theory classes, because although I play piano and lead worship, I do so much of it by ear, that it makes it hard for me to write music. Do you have a piano focus, or is it just a general music degree?
at 03:43PM 08/18/08
redheadrach:
I do have a piano focus currently - I might skip out on the senior recital and just do a regular music major, though my primary would still have been piano. I know the theory but can't really improvise - and I'm kind of losing the desire to really learn. lol I know theory and I'm classically trained. That's fine for me, I s'pose ;)

rachiebee:
Oh yes, of course it is! So tell me the most difficult piece you've ever learned/played. I love asking pianists that. And also, what are you wanting to do when you graduate? Teach music?
at 09:35AM 08/19/08
redheadrach:
I don't know what I want to do when I graduate, though hopefully I'll be able to teach piano. Some of the hardest things I've done are Brahms Rhapsody in g minor, some Beethoven sonatas, and some Rachmaninoff preludes. I'm currently working on a Chopin Ballade and it's waaaay intense :)

redheadrach:
Oh, and cool etudes by Chopin, Liszt, and Moszkoski :) But I haven't done much Liszt!
at 09:38AM 08/19/08
rachiebee:
Oooh, yeah Liszt is insanity...some of the finger spreads are just out of my range, for real, and I have big hands! Well, not that I could really play Liszt anyway, haha. My dream piece is Rhapsody in Blue. I LOOOOOVE it. I bought it off amazon, after reading reviews from THIRTEEN YEAR OLDS saying it was intermediate level, and then got it - it is over 30 pages long and well...yeah. It's hard. I found out from a VERY accomplished pianist I know that it's definitely advanced. *sigh* one day.

redheadrach:
Yeah, I have the music to it! It's difficult, but it's no Liszt :) You could totally play it someday!

rachiebee:
Oh I know...I just don't really have the patience to go through it and try and learn it because my sight reading skills are SO bad at this point. I plan on taking some theory classes though, so that will probably help to refresh my memory. :o)
