melissa: This doesn't show the other half of the floor that is soaking wet where water leaked through the wall. A valve broke on the sprinklers and was spraying water. There was no shut off and the shut off for the house was under water by the road (we didn't know) the back yard and carpet of the family room flooded. Chris was up all night trying to redirect the water and Koda was left inside excited.

Thankfully for me I slept through it all.

melissa: The carpet is still wet on the side it came in on. Chris moved everything off it. I'm not sure if we need to try and get something to dry it, or just let it dry. It's still pretty wet

lilmama: i would def. get a shop vac to get as much of it up and the put heated fans on it. you can get the fans from home depot. i would let you borrow a shop vac if we had one but we don't.

emolaro7: yeah, the padding could mold if you do not get it dried right away, maybe your homeowners insurance would help?

lilmama: I wouldn't count on homeowners but you can always give yours a call. Ours was useless all three times we had water issues.

nichole: I personally would not use homeowners insurance unless you have a claim that is thousands and thousands of dollars worth. Obviously it is your choice but pretty much if you make any claim you can't get insured by anyone if you choose to move or change insurance for 3 years. Just a thought.
