aslan: Huckabee confronted Coulter on his credentials as an "actual" Conservative. She took it well. No doubt, they, along with Palin, represent the future of Conservatism.

An Coulter is extremely bright, very articulate and FEARLESS !!! I want to grow up to be Ann Coulter. :)

aslan: Let me add, she also a brilliant subtle, dry wit.... Even Conservatives don't "get it" many times. The Liberals who do, become infuriated I'm constantly laughing everytime I hear her or read her books. :)

aslan: @ladybug Not sure. I "think" they're repeats from the Sat broadcast.....??? It's an interesting direct confrontation that Huckabee makes at the beginning of the segment with her..... as I said, which she responds to well. Interesting section and conversation.

ron: Would you like to hear this Miss using the talents God gave her, speaking the way she does of others, for eternity in heaven?

I'll be laughing in heaven but I doubt it will be to the sound of her voice unless her heart is changed by the love I love, the love of God!

aslan: @ron: Though we probably have wide areas of agreement I want to respond with a couple comments. And seriously, what I am about to say is said with respect.

Ann Coulter doesn't claim to be a spiritual role model, nor am I presenting her as such. She instead is a very intelligent, extremely articulate and fearless social commentator with a subtle, dry sense of humor that is most often overlooked by those who fail to recognize what it is that she actually does. She stands toe to toe with liberals while others are off cowering in the corners. Yes, she comes close to crossing some lines and can go beyond the line, BUT, any criticism of Ann Coulter MUST be accompanied by a similar criticism of all those who would and have trashed George Bush, Dick Cheney, Clarence Thomas, Sarah Palin, Dan Quayle, and so many others for so many years. The attacks ranged from disrespect of them as office holders to vicious personal attacks on them and their families. A conservative like Coulter comes along who can not only stand toe to toe with the best of them, but also back them off..... and "she" is subjected to the criticism as if before she came along respect and The Golden Rule were the rules of the day. It is refreshing to watch her turn the tables..... learn the rules and actually win the verbal competition. Really... is she the "only" one who speaks "the way she does of others"? Why not mention the others.....? Seems fair to me... Now as far her place in Heaven..... I'll leave that to the only Good and Perfect Judge.... that is, as Obama would say, above my pay grade..... Who am I to judge the servant of another?

dbox: Wow. I had never really looked at what Ann Coulter said, so I went to that wikipedia link. She really does have a subtle, dry wit. And incredibly sarcastic too. Maybe subtle isn't the best word...
My favorite quote (even though I didn't read through them all) is:
"You know, ok. I made a few jokes — and they killed 3000 Americans. Fair trade."

I know it is not exactly a "Christ-like" attitude, per say, but it makes me chuckle at the imbalance of our political priorities.

aslan: @dbox Subtle because those would chose to take her words literally would miss the humor actually contained in many of them. It's important to also consider that the quotes found on this website are a line or two in length, removed from their original context. I have read all of her books, with the exception or her recently published one, as well as her columns on occasion, and it does, or at least can, make a difference as to "why" the remark was made. Imagine individual comments being taken out of your sermons and teachings then listed in such a manner on a public site. As a teacher, and as someone who uses probably more than my share of sarcasm, I wouldn't want such a list made....... WITHOUT the context.

dbox: FOR SURE!!! Even comments made by Bill J. or Kris or even Jesus for that matter. How many wacked out doctrines are out there because some yahoo took a random verse out of context?...
