ok honestly someone at work sent this to me... I think they do look somewhat alike, I think Malcolm looks more like Denzel Washington... but I also thought it would be funny to post this and see if Lil and Tasha went at it again.
Lol Sorry...
Anyway, I wish Barrack all the best, if anyone wants to know what I really believe ask I'll send it to you, but not in a public forum...it's too complicated.

i also love it when people create accounts just to jump on political thread band wagons, and contribute nothing else to this community!

ok seriously something is REALLY bothering me with Obamania - the dude has a Teflon coating... it's like if anyone seems like they are insinuating anything critical or negative about him they get the race card played against them.
I mean seriously, WHO Cares if he's black or white or indian, or Chinese... do you really think any of that matters at all?
Of course it doesn't matter, what I have a problem with is that for the most part his foreign policy is very similar to Bush. They both have a goal of advancing "freedom and democracy" in the world... that's great, but if Bush says it, it's a bad idea, Obama says it, well let's save him a spot next to Jesus.

It is interesting that Bush was Boo'ed during the Inaguration, trashed for 8 years as a President, insulted and attacked as a person for 8 years,... and "now" to raise "any" question about any of Obama's "policies" is out of bounds..... Hmmmmm What doesn't seem right here...?
I think that Obama is really really close to my interpretation of world leaders in the end times. I am IN NO WAY comparing him to the anti-christ so calm down...
I think that the country and the global community will definitely improve under his tenure, I also think that we are progressing ever closer to a North American Community, and eventually a one world government. Banks are working together on an international level like never before, priming the world for a global currency under the one world government.
It kind of makes me smile 'cause it make me remember that HE is coming back sooner than I think, and that HE (Jesus)truly is the most powerful man in America

@lillianb: If you want to discuss... seriously.... without personal attacks, propaganda, fear or outright lies..... I'm open.
I. too. believe it is totally OK to raise questions about our leaders. However, singing "Nananana, nananana hey hey hey, goodbye" as Bush was graciously helping Obama transition into the Presidency at the Inaguration, well..... that goes beyond "raising questions",..... as does the chant. "Bush lied, people died". Attacks by the entertainment industry and liberal media pundits I seriously doubt were accompanied by prayer....... Now, since your comment to me had quotation marks around what was said to be Bush's attitude, was that a direct quote, and if so, what is your source?.... or, is that your own conclusion about his position, or that of some commentator? Is what "someone else" believes about our motivation. why we do something, a sufficient explanation for what it is that we do? I don't know.... it just seems that "that" summation of the Bush Presidency is but one more example of the lack of respect this principled man received during his terms of office. Where have I gone wrong?
at 09:18PM 01/22/09
aslan:
Actually, in he has said such..... that mistakes "were" made. And I have no doubt in my mind that his intentions from the beginning were to do "what is right". Is there something that indicates that he wanted to do something "other" than what is right.....? Example? By the way, I'm assuming from you not answering that you were "not" quoting anything Bush had actually said.

Should have been.. "Actually, in fact,...."

You know, we all (me too) have our ideas as to why someone else does something, maybe that's just part of what it means to be human. My concern, if not outright objection, however, is to how opinions regarding Bush's actions have been presented as fact. History will treat this President much more kindly than the American public, or even the Church, has. A person with principles, who determines to live by them, will "often" be misunderstood as rigid, stubborn, dogmatic, hard headed... fill in the blank. I would personally rather be seen that way than as someone who changed my position according to the latest criticism or Public Opinion poll.

@ natasharoe--Who were you talking about when you said the thing about "certain people" and "stupid comments?"

I knew you were kidding, lil, but I wouldn't have been as nice as katrina has been if it was my husband. even with all the "ha ha"s and "I kid"s thrown in, as if that nullifies the insult.

Here's the thing, Aaron: I don't think these two men look anything alike, and I really don't know why someone would send something like this out in an email--other than to try to create fear of the black man. And then, in all honesty, I can't figure out why you would repost this pic, dude. I feel like it's kind of like retelling a tasteless joke, and then claiming no responsibility for it because someone else told it to you (I have done this a few times). Once, I told a joke as an adult that I had learned as a kid. The joke was "What do you call the black stuff in between an elephant's toes? Slow natives." I forgot, though, that one of the people listening to the joke had a daughter who, like BO, had a black father. I felt like such a dip shit. When we slip up and do or say something stupid, we should admit it and say we're sorry. These pics juxtaposed like this with the heading "notice any similarities" is not a legit criticism of Barack Obama that people have unfairly critiqued as "Playing the race card." It is straight up racially motivated. Even though you didn't make it up, it is offensive to a lot of people. The thing is, Malcolm X was a really amazing person, but for a lot of white people, he symbolizes a kind of militant black man who is trying to take over.

Also, I don't get emails like the above picture. Do you know why? Because if, by chance, someone sends me something like this, I reply to every other person on the forward list and tell them about how they are propelling ignorance and fear and stupidity by sending this type of tripe on to someone else. And then I tell them that I will do the same thing every time, and request that they don't send me anything like this ever again. I did it recently when someone sent me some list of a bunch of quasi-racist things that Andy Rooney supposedly said (I'd be willing to bet that some of you may have received said email). I included the snopes page that discredited it and told them that they shouldn't feel okay about having angry, racist thoughts just because the lovable, curmudgeonly Andy Rooney feels the same way, because he doesn't.
Anyway, the horse's ass thing was my idea. I thought it would be a funny way to say, "Hey Aaron, I think that 'slow natives' punch line might have been in poor taste." And, by the way, if/when I slip up and show some good old-fashioned boneheadedness, I hope that Lil will always let me know.
Lil - I was the one who deleted your link to a picture insulting me. I told you I was pissed but that I could take it (as in being insulted in a public forum) However, I WAS NOT going to use my page/post to increase exposure to your insult.
It's because I totally love your husband and respect your politcal opinions that I haven't responded in kind...which has been difficult to do.
So do me a favour...quit "joke" insinuating ANYTHING negative about my wife. That really does piss me off and despite my respect for Chris might just instigate a shit storm you're not going to enjoy. I would strongly recommend that you appologize to Katrina. THanks.

Whew (done in a low breathy whistle)......kinda fun and awful at the same time....the thread content, not the picture...though I'm not horribly offended by the picture...but it is in poor taste...not that Aaron has poor taste...oh crap! Forget I said anything!
