Ours isn't being used for anything as fun as home entertainment, but it should make for a good office workstation.

I have some of the original ones hooked up to my TV's and they make good home entertainment machines. They don't handle HD movie rips though, just not enough horsepower in the graphics chip. Can't say anything about the new ones because I don't have one, but if someone will buy me one I will gladly do a review of the capabilities as a HD home theater machine :)

does the new one have a blue ray? or anyone know of a good blue ray usb/firewire drive that they would recommend? i have no clue if that would even work, but thought someone here might know

the new ones don't have blu-ray. too bad, that would really make it perfect! every once in a while fry's has a sale on external br-dvd drives. i didn't see one in this weeks ad though.
