i have had that happen before when i had to rest my phone.......idk if you have done that lately or not...or if you have messed with the firmwear or not that would make it do that.....

If it only happened after you unlocked it and then switched back, it may have created a sort of clone directory of the original OS for AT&T, and since there already was one, it put quotes around this new clone instead of calling AT&T (2), etc. Or, it's having an identity crisis and is not sure it is still with AT&T.
I prefer ericj's "marked" theory though. lol
