Hahaha! Girl, I'm still learning. Honestly, what I've found out that 90% of beginning to learn the piano is getting used to sitting at the piano, memorizing the note letters, hand positions, and just doing it over and over and over and over. So, you're gonna have to buy a piano first. ;-) Or you can use the practice rooms at the college like me. ;-) I'll be more than happy to give you my beg piano book once the semester is over. It's a good one.

I know what you mean. I've been having a desire to learn piano for years now, just never got around to it. The keyboard I have isn't really good to learn on and the kid's lost the cord to plug it in, so I haven't been able to use that much. I'm hoping to get a piano of my own once I can afford it. It's fun and I find it so releasing just to practice my scales. It's only been 3 weeks since school started and all we've learned so far are songs with like 3 or 4 notes in them, C D E & F, in my beginning piano class. In my music 2 class, though, we're learning all of the major key's, chords, and scales. In Music 2 it's kind of understood that if you're enrolled that you have had some kind of piano training. I like it because the first one starts at the basics, while the other one challenges me to be 2 steps ahead. I don't know if just anybody can use the college piano's. I would definitely call and ask. Once beauty school is over for ya, maybe you can take the beginning piano course there. I think it's also cool to take dance there too. I mean with the bogg waiver the whole semester for a full time student is less than $40, so if you think about it, I'm taking piano, dance, and then some for less than $10 a month. ;-)

Go to www.musictheory.net and check out the keyboard and not trainer. This will help you get started with memorizing reading notes and which keys the notes are. My instructor told us about this website. It's helping me A LOT!!!
