You should probably take him to a doc...have his ears checked.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. Judah had a temp after some vaccinations and so we thought it was the vaccines, but it ended up being some other kind of bug. Jaron only has high temps with ear infections so checking his ears may be a great idea.

Ped checked his ears and breathing on Monday and he was fine. Took him to urgent care tonight and dr said he's ok. Keep him hydrated, Tylenol & ibuprofen okay, and temp at 104 is what is dangerous. No ear infection or anything. He's fine just have to keep an eye on him, use cool cloths to keep his temp down, and he should be over it in a day or so. Joy, Lance's mom went and bought a temporal thermometer for Owen today. It keeps giving me diferent temps with each reading. One reading will say 103 and another 101, when the 101 is the correct one. I try to keep it flesh on his forehead - middle to hairline - like the directions say, but I am a little frustrated with the differing temp readings.

Are you holding the button down the whole time? Start at the middle of the forehead and move it to his temple and down in front of his ear. Hold down the whole time and release the button before taking it off of his head. Also, practice on your own head. Let me know if this is clear and also how it goes.

I hold the button down and go from the middle of the forehead to his hairline, like the directions say. I've practiced on myself and it reads fine on my head, but for some reason when I try to do his I get weird readings. hmm. I guess I have to practice more?

You shouldn't be going up and down you should be starting from the middle of his forehead and moving sideways to his temple and a little below it. You are following the temporal vein. Here's some links to how to video:

Oh punkin! Healing in Jesus name. It's so hard when they don't feel well. This is a sweet picture though.

I don't go up and down. Put against middle of forehead, press button, move across forhead, let go of button. This morning it said 103, but he wasn't that hot. The ear thermometer said 101.
Owen had definitely had some cute moments, despite being sick. He says buh-bye to his movie when it's almost over, he has been cuddly, & he has the most pitiful cute faces when he has a cloth on his head. Amanda, how's Malachi today?

Weird Laurel. I wish I could see what's going on. I've never had a problem with the thermometer and the reviews are excellent on it. Sorry you're not having a good time with it.

I think Lance's mom might have bought it from Walgreens, though it is the same thermometer as at Costco - it just costs more at Walgreens. hm. Maybe when you guys get back, and after Owen is better, next week I could come by real quick and see if mine acts funny compared to yours, and if it for sure is the same. Don't want a faulty thermometer.
Still has fever. :( was almost 103 but now 100.9 Pray for him. don't want to take to urgent care.
