I had to write an autumn poem for school last week, it kind of sucks, but got AMAZING reviews...
September in Orange County
What once was unadulterated heat Now has scent of cool What once was beach and Disneyland Now has freedom and fur... What once was a ferris wheel and lava lamp Now is fixed and fortressed. What once was sand beneath the feet Now are shoes of leather, Which once was summer in demand Now is stormy weather
I like the change of seasons. I like perfect faith. I like to watch birds play & sing: “Come what may, I'll keep flying.”

Yeah, we don't really have an autumn here. More like a not-as-hot-umn.

Ah yes. But California has so many things that Washington State doesn't have such as sunshine(!), good Mexican food, and nicer people. Haha. I guess that sounds pretty bad but we love and miss California but are thankful to be here in Washington State. Just goes to show that the grass isn't greener anywhere eh? Well, it's greener here than in Texas that's for sure. We never saw green grass the whole time we were there. =) -j
