They both went to the dr the day they got sick, he said it was probably the flu but not to worry about it unless they had a fever I couldn't break or wasn't keeping fluids down or keeping fluids down but not going to the bathroom

thanks. I'm not too worried, but we've had a lot of kids out with h1n1 (5 in his class, 4 in Elijah's) and I'm only concerned because my dr freaked me out a little bit about being preggo and getting it. She really wants me to get the shot, although I don't think it matters now if I've already been exposed. (oh, and that was "to", not "tp" by the way. I must have toilet paper on the brain!)

lol @ the tp Ya the kids dr who we have been going to for 12 years said please don't freak out about this whole h1n1 swine flu thing, its the flu and thousands of people die from it every year and the only reason you hear about it so much now is cause they are making such a huge thing over it, he didn't even recommend getting the vaccine and personally i don't think it has been around long enough to know all about it so I will not give it to the kids even though we can get a free one through the kids school.. I got a flu shot last year for the first time and was sick more than I ever have been

Sara....mercola.com can answer your questions about getting the flu shot while pregnant ;) I wouldn't do it, but that me. Dr's using scare tactics is not a good or very nice thing to do. Mary, your dr sounds spot on from research I have done. We can't forget that the regular flu carries the potential of death too. (so sad) but its never called a pandemic or gets news attention like the h1n1 strain. Just stay hydrated and get lots of rest and fluids and we should all be ok :) oh...and wash the hands ;)

and lysol the heck out of your house! lol I did that when they kids were sick, I just sprayed the rooms with it faucets, toilets door handles and light switches, when you got to stores wipe down the baskets with a handy anti-bacterial wipe, I have been trying to remember to do that more and make sure I use the basket seat cover for petyon When Jake told the dr a girl in his class had the swine flu his answer to that was don't freak, stand in the flu's face and lol at it haha

yeah, I'm not too worried about getting sick, I'm more worried about what they may prescribe me if I do get sick! I've never had a flu shot (to the best of my memory) and I've only had the flu once in 10 years, and that was when I was going to college full time, working 3 jobs and just a bit stressed out! I'm not totally pro immunization, but not totally anti immunization either. Having my brother's life dependent on modern medicine and seeing the miracle of life with his disease and transplant has given me a healthy respect for the medical community and their knowledge. (I do wash my hands constantly and disinfect everything, too) :)
