 Here we go ...

| 9 months of research and preparation. Trip booked. Expenses paid. Bags packed. Today was the beginning of the longest and most different trip that Jocelyn and I have ever been on. As you most likely already know, we are in Chicago for the next 5 weeks. We woke up early this morning (3am) and we have course made things difficult and decided to bring our two yorkies along with us. My dad shuttled us to the airport and helped us haul our 10 pieces of luggage through the Sacramento Airport and we arrived to our terminal at just the right now. Our flight to O'Hare was smooth sailing and the dogs did not freak out as we thought they would. Tonight we are staying at a Comfort Suites in an industrial/convention type area of town outside of O'Hare called Schiller Park. We had some pizza for dinner which was great, but I have a feeling it was only because we are so hungry from the trip. When I went to go pick up the pizza I could hear the cicadas that were in the parks just outside of the hotel. We are really excited about moving into the city tomorrow and starting to explore Chicago! |
