Day 1 - August 31, 2008
Annual Blackberry Festival ~ Mt. Shasta California
The local Rotary club is host to this fun time of good music and blackberry goodies. Last year I attended this event and found a place where the local folks gather. Families from other parts of California and Oregon come too. I called the Rotary this summer of 2008 to see if they wanted me to come back. Their response came back on 08.08.08 at 8 pm right as the Olympics were counting down! Eight to me is a number in the Bible "new beginnings". Hummmmmm.

This years event was fun, but I started a little late: 3 pm.
Not dismayed, I continued on and set up by the children's play yard. The little ones began to gather and loved the LIVE ART. Here are some of their remarks: (I did not take photos of them up close for obvious privacy issues...)

"I love your art."
"Can you be my art teacher?"
"When I touch your painting I feel renewed"
"These paintings are shiny".

There were about 12 or so kids, high school age, college age and adults who were really moved by the Holy Spirit by the visual painting process. I was honored to encourage many. I shared my love of our Saviour with one and invited them to our weekly meetings. Above all, many watched and were wondering....

Please pray for a blessing with the local people of Siskiyou County, Rotary, artists and favor.
Sincerely,
"Victoria" Darlene Alexander-Randolph
