| I knew it wasn’t going to be the most fun drive so I made sure to start my trip off right with some Starbucks. I started getting pretty bored in the Vacaville/Fairfield areas so I decided to pay less attention to the road and focused a good amount of energy trying to get a reflective shot of myself in the rearview mirror. Of course I think that I know San Francisco like the back of my hand so I start to stray from the true and narrow set of driving directions that I received from Google Maps. To top this off my Google Maps graphic was zoomed out extremely far so I didn’t have a visual reference of the streets nearby Stevenson. This will of course mess me up in the long run. My designation was 2nd and Stevenson. I was able to find 2nd and easily found a parking garage. The main problem was finding Stevenson. Long story short .. I’ve walked up and down 2nd a few times and stopped short of Stevenson a decent amount of times :) Sacramento isn’t exactly overflowing with Ruby programmers. The only other Ruby programmer I personally know is my friend Nur. When I arrived at Louie’s Bar and Grill only Geoffrey, Richard, and Josh were there. As the night went on more and more programmers showed up. We moved on to another restaurant called Osha Thai Noodle Cafe. I had a great time talking to everyone and am looking forward to seeing them again at the San Francisco Ruby Meetups and RailsConf. |
