| For breakfast I had a chocolate croissant and some Dim Sum. We worked with our Indonesian partners to help them get up and running with StoreSense in their native language as well as English. I forget what happened during those work sessions but I do remember that we were using a lot of JavaScript. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures from when we had lunch at a local mall. I did have some interesting things to eat though ... * Cow Lung? - pretty good, was a little like beef jerky * Beef Ribs with hot sauce * BBQ Chicken - very good * Beef Curry - pretty good * Rice Later that evening while on our way to a nice restaurant Kevin suggested to our host that he would rather get a more authentic taste of Jakarta and wanted to eat at what is basically a street side restaurant. On the side of the street they setup a large tent and cook inside of it. The place was full of locals and we could tell they we were REALLY out of place. The food was decent but scary due to where we were. * White Rice * Pork skewers * Sliced cucumbers in Soy sauce? Vinegar? * Some sort of soup This was also my first introduction to the street vendors. It was pretty interesting how prevalent piracy is in Jakarta. The vendors would constantly walk up to you and peddle copies of Photoshop, Windows, popular movies, and CDs. |
