On Our Own
We learned some new information about Indonesia culture this morning. Some of the associates we were working with offered to pick us up this morning to checkout a large mall called "Mangga Dua Mall" that had lots of technology shops. After waiting for an hour or so we were informed by a hotel bellboy that it's normal for Indonesians to be up to an hour late! We decided to try and scout it out by ourselves.

We took a taxi to the mall and on the way I must say that we passed several parts of Jakarta that were in terrible poverty. We really had not seen this side of the city yet as our hosts kept us in the nicer parts of town.

We arrived at the mall to find it pretty busy and very large.

We window shopped and checked out the stores there. A lot of them just sold pirated CDs of the latest software, music, and video games. We hardly saw anything that would be considered legal in the US. By random chance in a city of millions we happened to run across one of the associates we were working with who was getting a haircut at the mall.

Kevin and I went to a restaurant in an area that seemed a little more upscale. It was sort of a themed restaurant and I had an Australian raised steak.
