Wedding!!
Hi All!
Tim and I got married Sept. 12th this year... We had a picnic the day before at Sand Harbor Beach with all of our 24 guests, it was catered by my sister and her chef colleagues - Good eats!! (and good spirits too!) The weather in Tahoe was nice that day, the sky and water was clear blue and the temperature still held on to some summer warmth while the leaves were showing signs of turning color.
The weather on the wedding day gave us a little good luck twist though. I had to wear a dress that day but it was fairly painless. My two-year old niece, who was our flower girl meticulously kept the flower petals on the aisle while my three year old nephew was the perfect little bearer of the rings. My bridesmaids, who were my sister and friend, kept the pine needles off of my huge dress - yes, there was a storm! It was crazy - before the ceremony it was fine but suddenly in the middle of the readings, strong, loud winds with a few raindrops swept through. It was quick and sudden. A few moments later there was a lull and during the ring exchange, the sun came out! - just in time for the picture session that ensued.
The reception was on the California side (wedding was in Nevada) down the street from the mountain the ceremony was on. The reception was good times. Our guests loved the food and the cake was absolutely yummy! (I favored the white chocolate strawberry layer - SO yummy!!) We also had a slideshow, etc. - all those things that come w/ wedding reception. All in all, the day went great! The ceremony was exactly the way we wanted it - a small group, alone, on the mountain, in the trees, overlooking the water, the ceremony short but sweet, then off to the reception around sunset. The day after the wedding was my sister's birthday and we spent it recuperating and galavanting around Tahoe some more.
