The Trip over...

| Flight was great...very smooth! I got about 10 hours of broken sleep...pretty good I thought! Dee and I were on same plane!! We didn't get to sit next to each other but we were in same section and we could see each other! It was nice having a friendly face on board! We also got upgraded which gave us extra leg room!!! YAY God! We arrived at San Fran 30 mins early which was great because we needed it what with customs taking forever and the security check point being a classic!!! and complicated! We were given directions to find a shorter queue but it ended up being 3 or 4 times longer than the original queue we were in! No one seemed to know where to go and there was hardly any Airport staff directing people traffic!! Anyway, we worked it all out and thankfully we only had to go through the normal checks. You have to take off all jackets and shoes and in my case my belt, plus money belt, metal jewelry, laptops personal items, liquids etc...took ages to get reorganised afterwards but it all worked out fine! A lady in front of us was joking about how she always gets picked for random checks for stuff and sure enough she had to stand in a new booth that has XRAY vision and can see through your clothes!!!!!! How weird is that! Where's the privacy! Anyway! Dee waited with me until my flight arrived for Redding and we prayed together, took a few photos and we met another girl who was on her to Redding for same school at the gate! She overheard us talking Christianese and interrupted us to see if we were going to Bethel!!! Didn't want to say goodbye to Dee but we are both on such amazing journeys, separate but together! She waved me off and went to find her gate for her flight to Florida...thank you God for such an amazing friend!! My flight to Redding was on a really small plane (see photo)! It was quite loud with the propellers, and I sat next to a young girl who lives in Redding. She'd been to Bethel Church once years and years ago and I'm not sure if she's a believer or not but she and I chatted heaps and her Dad offered to drive me to my apartment which was HUGE blessing! They were so friendly. They invited me around for dinner one night and she also said she'd be interested in coming to Church with me one night!! Go God!! So when I walked in the door of my apartment, I felt instantly at home...there is such a peace in this place. Elisabeth lives here and I'm housesitting for her while she's away. She's from Norway and will be going home for 7 weeks leaving this Friday...sad because she is SOOOO lovely. I'll be living with 2 other girls from the School of Worship. They arrive the day College starts. I look forward to meeting them. Party party party!!! |
