Oh, but I was also teasing. I've actually heard that viewpoint. Who knows. I do know there are Falashi jews from Egypt. Apparently there are also jews from China and India and there are various other places. Very interesting I think. My ancestors come from Poland and White Russia, now the Ukraine. My great aunt and uncle were survivors of Dachau concentration camp.

I have visited Dachau, Aushwitz, Birkenau and Treblinka concentration & death camps. Very moving. All but Dachau are in Poland. I had a very interesting experience at Aushwitz with an American Jew. Sometime over coffee I'll tell you the story.

I would love to hear it. If you have ever been to the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, my aunt and uncle and cousins are registered there. The last name is Pesis. That was a moving experience. You get a passport in the beginning and as you tour through the building you turn each page in the passport. At the end you find out in your passport whether your survived or died. I was a survivor. It was a solemn experience. It gave me a greater appreciation of who I am and where I come from.

I'm in DC in April, so I'll plan to visit. My dad is buried at Arlington, so I always plan an extra day to visit there. This will fit that day nicely!

Wow Arlington, that is such an honor. We visited there back in 2002. We need to make another trip to DC. There was so much to see and we only covered a little. Mark loves history and now I do too only because of the things Ive learned from him. If you have never been to the Holocaust Muesuem, it is and experience. But you probably already know that after visiting the concentration camps. The names of my aunt and unlce are Albert and Gloria Pesis, sons Jacob and Solomon and one daughter named Frances are listed as survivors and second generation survivors.
