This is terrible! I am so sad for this girl! I do know however that CPS gives the parents a heads up before coming to observe their home. They shouldn't. But they do. In many cases the family, or the abuser will clean up their act and tell the abused to keep themselves quiet and they will for fear of more abuse. So everything looks fine on the surface and CPS can't do anything because it is unlawful for them to remove children from the home unless the claims are absolutely proven. Many times it takes several complaints from various people involved before they legally can do anything to protect the children. I speak of this not only from a former preschool teacher's perspective but also as someone who had a family member-in-law who had dealings with CPS. I've nearly had to make claims against this person before. It's much more complicated than people think. I wish in this case they had heard this girl's cry for help 2 years ago and been able to see what was really going on. Better yet I wish the mother who had to have been afraid of retaliation from her husband would have been able to post claims against him.

Yeah, it really is. It is a lying and manipulative spirit that clouds these people's perspectives and keeps them from really seeing the reality of what they are doing and the receiving end, what is really happening to them. My prayer is that the two kids that are left find peace and that they will be free from fear and the manipulation that they have been subjected to so far in their lives as they grieve for their family members. So sad.

I can't even begin to imagine. She will need the Lord to intervene and take those thoughts and memories away from her. Even if she doesn't remember the actual events, knowing what has happened as she gets older will be hard. Man....crazy to think about.
