I want to encourage everyone as we pray for Barack Obama, that we would take on the tender heart of the Lord for him. Just over twenty years ago, in some parts of this country, a black person was not even allowed to drink from the same water fountain as a white person. God, thank you for this man! This is a great thing. This is a glorious statement that our nation elected a black man and we need to pray for him. He needs our prayers now more than ever, but we can't do it with haughty spirits. Let's not miss this moment in history because our heart's are hardened and we are allowing a mean spirit to take form in our lives. Let's posture our hearts in humility, that God might truly touch our hearts. There's still time for God to encounter this man before he even enters the office of President. God, You are the Lord. You raise kings up and you tear them down. Give him wisdom like you gave to Solomon. Let him lead with fairness and equity and righteousness. Bless him, keep him and cause your face to shine upon him.

I have been listening to Allen! What gave me away? The fact that I turned his exhortation and prayers into mine nearly line by line? ;) I wish I had the webcast where you can go back to listen again because then it really would be line by line, exactly as he said it because he is so much more eloquent than I. He was on fire this morning and something struck a chord in me...love him!

@julie, I know! I was actually excited to go through labor and delivery again when I was in the hospital with Lily. We'll see if I'm singing a different tune when I'm actually there again. ;)
