It is true that we are now approaching it with more technology, but the old way is fascinating. We had a neighbor who built a replica cabin with a sod roof. It had no cement, re-bar or modern sealants--and it did not leak in the rain.

I'm sure your right. However I think they are a little more advanced these days...concrete slabs,bar joist then sod and drains. My son-in law was looking at an aerial G.P.S yesterday and noticed a sod courtyard on the second level of the Animal Hosp. next door to where we were standing.
